WATERCOLOR, INK & YOUR IMAGINATION with Sarah Arace

Wednesday, April 10th & May 1st, 7:00-9:00pm, Advanced Registration Required

In this playful class Sarah will share her techniques on creating with your imagination. Participants will leave with 3-4 finished small paintings, different watercolor techniques, and confidence in working with mixed media.

Sarah will pick out color palettes, and give different techniques and prompts on letting the ego go, and letting that inner child out to play.

This is perfect for beginners and those who haven’t “let go” for a while.

 

DRAWING ALL LEVELS with Emma Bradford

Sunday April 21st or May 26th, 4:00-6:00pm, Advanced Registration Required

If you are interested in brushing up on drawing techniques or working with colors for the first time, this class is for you! For those who have had some experience with drawing, this is a great class to expand in their mark making, values &/or color theory.

SOFT PASTELS 101 with Sarah Arace

Tuesday, April 30th, or May 14th, 7:00-9:00pm, Advance Registration Required

This colorful class Sarah will go over the basics of soft pastels. Participants will not only take home 3-4 finished pieces of work, but knowledge of materials and techniques when working in this fun medium. Participants are asked to bring in subject or photos to pull inspiration from.

BRUSH LETTERING with Molly Margaret

Come explore the world of brush lettering! In this class we will look at the many lettering effects and styles you can achieve using brushes and brush markers. We will cover a full brush alphabet, letter variations from edgy to flowy and a few basic illustration examples using a brush. Using a wide range of markers you'll create new letter forms with ease.

 

ABSTRACT ACRYLIC PAINTING with Douglas Charlton

In this class we will use color to spark emotion and most importantly have you create a color scheme that works in your home. With a few simple and linear brush strokes this class will provide an individual, not to mention an original piece of artwork that's all your own.

 

FLOURISHED WATERCOLOR ART with Molly Margaret

Join Molly of Esque Script for a fun filled night of exploring the use of watercolors to create beautiful one of a kind cards, stationery and gifts. We'll spend time learning techniques on how to hold and manipulate a brush to create different foliage and flourished designs.

Three weeks of consistent drop in oil painting workshop time with Kymberlee Stanley and a small group of other beginning painters. The focus of this class will be on learning basics and applying new knowledge each week. Classes are held in private Studio K in a cozy studio experience.

If you are interested in brushing up or learning drawing techniques for the first time, this class is for you! This class is great for beginners or artists who are a little out of practice to learn a few drawing techniques that are helpful for other areas of art making as well. In this series, you will use graphite to practice drawing from life, utilizing a grid for drawing from a photo reference, adding value and marks to create form. Throughout we will review Elements of Art as well as Principles of Design.

 

BOTANICAL ART 101 with Miranda Fuller

Stop and smell the roses with Miranda as she teaches you beginning botanical art! This four-part series invites you to enjoy the plant world in a creative way and encourages self-expression during the process. You will learn how to study, draw and color your favorite botanicals.

Come join Leighton as she demonstrates how to paint places, whether a landscape, beach scene, or building, that has meaning to you. She will show you how to use value, texture, and brush strokes to create different areas to transform a photo into a painting by your hand.

 

UNCOVERED AND SMOTHERED with Cindy Wunsch Bowen

This is a class about pushing through and exploring the many facets of mixed media. We will play with color theory, composition and the use interesting ephemera to produce a powerful work of art. Some artistic challenges will be given to deepen your creativity and ways of thinking about mixed media.

The timeless beauty of oil paint designed for artists with allergies and sensitivity to solvent smells. Cleans up easily and acts like oils. You will learn the basics of mixing and applying this wonderful new medium. In the second class, you’ll create a small painting from start to finish using water mixable oil paint.

This class is perfect for beginners as well as advanced students. Using graphite, and charcoal on tinted paper, we will be learning how to use light to make your subject look three dimensional. Using classical techniques, we will understand how light hits an object and describes the form.

Intro. to Watercolor is the first step on a lifelong journey of creative expression and joy. This foundational class covers the basics that are needed to begin watercolor painting. You will learn the theories and do the practice necessary to continue producing high quality paintings long after you have finished this class. Learning to watercolor is a gift that brings continual growth as an artist. Your teacher will guide you as you acquire the language and skills necessary to be a watercolorist.

Curious about painting or color theory? This is a great class to explore some basic techniques with little pressure. For those who have had some experience with drawing, this is a great class to expand in their mark making, values & also color theory. We will be working with oil pastel, a wonderful medium that is forgiving while also has the ability to create complex colors and beautiful marks.

This class is designed to teach students how to paint botanicals, using oil paint and is perfect for beginners as well as advanced students. Lauren will take you step by step through the process starting with preparing your surface. Lauren will be discussing some fundamental techniques of drawing, emphasizing value and form.
